Which cone for which drill?
All cones mark a spot, but the right shape makes a drill easier to run. Here's the quick way to choose.
Most coaches just need flat disc cones for grids and boundaries, and a 40-pack covers a whole session. But once you're running jumps, holding poles, or working in wind or on a gym floor, the cone shape starts to matter. Match the cone to what the drill actually asks for.
Pick the cone for the job
| Cone style | Best for | Why | Shop |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mini disc cones (5")Best seller | Marking grids, boundaries, footwork ladders | Low, flat and stackable. You get a lot of them, so they're perfect for laying out squares, gates and tight agility patterns. | Shop mini cones |
| Prodisc cones (8") | High-visibility lanes, larger fields, coaching stations | Bigger disc that's easy to see from across a field. Great when you need cones to read clearly for older or larger groups. | Shop Prodisc |
| Regular saucer cones (7") | All-purpose markers, dribbling gates, turns | The do-everything cone. A touch taller than mini for clearer turn markers while still stacking flat. | Shop saucer cones |
| Hexa cones | Raised obstacles, holding poles/pipes, dog & agility | Hexagon shape with a groove that holds an agility pole or pipe, so you can build raised obstacles, not just floor markers. | Shop Hexa cones |
| Triangle cones | Directional cues, slalom, windy outdoor sessions | Three flat faces give a clear directional look and a stable base that resists getting kicked or blown over. | Shop triangle cones |
| Hurdle cones2-in-1 | Step-overs, mini hurdles, jump training | Cones with holes that take a pole, turning two cones into an adjustable mini hurdle. One set covers markers and jumps. | Shop hurdle cones |
| Vinyl cones (6", heavy) | Indoor PE, gym floors, durable everyday use | Heavier weighted cones that won't slide on gym floors and stand up to constant class use. | Shop vinyl cones |
